Nima Kaufmann

Nima’s world is a subtle and precise blend of craftsmanship and design. After graduating from the historic School of Applied Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds with a degree in Jewelry, Nima pursued further studies in Industrial Design at ECAL.

While this singular pluralism is an asset today, it may have initially been the result of numerous sketches and reflection to find the right gesture. The actual work is an outcome of exploring various sources, be they formal, conceptual, or occasional, based also on his quest to answer his multiple roots in swiss and iranian culture.

It’s precisely through gesture that these questions were ultimately resolved: by returning to a practice on a more human scale, and to a body-focused relationship in both making and wearing.
