Created by 26-year-old textile artist Marte Mestad from Norway, Moliidae is born from an eternal love for textiles and fibers. Marte has worked with a range of materials from sanitary silicone and building materials to fishing rods. Much of the brand's inspiration comes from the tactile qualities and possibilities within the materials used, yet Marte always comes back to crocheting as her main technique. Marte has a bachelor's degree in Art and dissemination from Oslo Metropolitan University and is returning to start her master's in Art in society this fall.

"When I was younger I used to make tiny collections of things I liked or found pretty and carried them with me around in my home. When I design pieces this is what I'm aiming for - creating pieces that you have to bring with you or keep close, either it makes you happy or feeling calm." -Marte Mestad
